Captain Steve and His Pirate Queen Wendy
Meet Captain Steve and Mrs. Wendy Wilson, the founders of Southern Star and Buccaneer Cruises. Captain Steve served the public as the original captain of the Southern Star Dolphin Cruise! With over 20 years and 300,000 miles of sea service, Captain Steve has steered government ships, speciality ships and ocean tugs. He has experienced navigating through deep draft ports along the east coast, west coast, Panama and Central America, Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Over 28 years ago, Captain Steve and his wife decided to settle in Destin, Florida, where they pioneered the first dolphin cruise and began a new industry of tourism in Destin! Nowadays, he and his wife are enjoying their retirement, and spending their time contributing their time and resources to their local church and community. Internationally, Captain Steve and Mrs. Wendy are involved with spreading the gospel through the OneHope ministry.

Meet Captain Cannonball! He will be your captain aboard the Buccaneer Pirate Cruise! From the time he was a young lad, Captain Cannonball knew he wanted to captain a boat on the Emerald Coast waters. He has traveled far and wide at the helm of many vessels from supply boats in the oil fields to fishing vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. He has been with the company as a part time Captain since 1997, and full time since 2007. Prior to becoming Captain of Buccaneer Pirate Cruise in 2012, he served as Captain aboard Southern Star Dolphin Cruise. He enjoys meeting new mateys, as well as seeing his returning crew come aboard for a swashbuckling good time! He is married to his lovely wife, Priscilla the Pirate Princess, who also works on site as the company’s Executive Assistant. He has 2 sons, C.J. and Austin, and a daughter, Eliza. When he is not searching for treasure in the open seas, Captain Cannonball loves spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and hunting.
Princess Priscilla – Office Manager
Princess Priscilla is the key to the treasure of the Buccaneer Pirate Cruise, serving every day as our beloved Executive Assistant. In 2008, she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in English Literature and a Minor in Communications, and began working as a Reservations Agent for our sister ship, the Southern Star Dolphin Cruise. She grew with the company, learning new skills and taking on more responsibilities, and when the company brought the pirate ship to Destin in 2012, she took on the new role of Executive Assistant. Having performed in community theater throughout school, she loves to make cameo appearances aboard the Buccaneer to change her scenery and get out of the office every now and again. Having her as part of our crew is a true treasure!

Captain Cannonball’s first mate! He’s a true matey both onboard and on land! He loves to do video work and is quite the creator! He knows his treasure but he also knows his tech-y stuff too! We love our Red Tom!
